awesome event 1: Kabbalat Tu ‘B’shvat
2/7/20 7:30pm Asher Hashash and I will lead Kol Ami’s first every Kabbalat Tu B’Shvat Seder and Tish. We will combine the best of Kabbalat Shabbat with a Tu B’shvat Seder filled with song, story telling, learning and food AND drink. Bring wine, grape juice or a fruit-Inspired desert to share. No cost. No rsvp. Just show up. Kol Ami in Kirkland.

Land restoration and tree planting with Green Kirkland
Join the Green Kirkland Partnership to help with the restoration of Crestwoods Park. Volunteers will spend the morning participating in restoration activities which may include removing non-native invasive plants like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, spreading mulch over cleared areas, and planting native trees, shrubs, and ground covers. No experience is necessary and tools/gloves are provided!
This event will be led by Volunteer Green Kirkland Stewards Karen & Asher.
This event generally meets the second Thursday of each month. Please note this event will not meet in July, August, or September of 2020.
What to Bring: * Closed toed shoes required (ex: tennis shoes, sneakers or boots but no sandals) * Clothes that can get dirty * Rain gear, warm layers, long pants/long sleeves * Full water bottle & snacks * Tools, training and gloves are provided * Leather gloves if you have them
Where to Meet: The address for the park is 1818 6th St Kirkland, WA 98033
Meet by the playground north of the parking lot.
Parking: Parking is available in the parking lot and along the street.
Youth Volunteering: Volunteers age 14-17 attending the event without a parent or guardian must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with them. Download the Green Kirkland Youth Volunteer Waiver. Volunteers younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Download the Green Kirkland Youth Volunteer Waiver.
Be Prepared to Volunteer
What to bring: Close-toed shoes are required (boots, sneakers; no sandals). Please dress for the weather - rain gear is a good idea for most events. We encourage you to wear layers and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Please bring a filled water bottle and snacks. We will provide all the tools and training that are needed for restoration work.
Youth Volunteers: Minors under the age of 14 years must be accompanied by an adult. Youth 14 to 17 must either be accompanied by an adult, bring a signed youth waiver form, or bring a parent/guardian to sign you in.
Teens under the age of 14 need an adult to accompany them.
