We refer to Kol Ami as a Center for Jewish Life. But what does that really mean for you?
It means that you can rely on Kol Ami’s pastoral leadership and counseling, and values-based programming, to help you deal with life’s challenges; celebrate life-cycle events, build friendships; strengthen the community around you; and lead a more grounded, purposeful, and fulfilling life.
Members of Kol Ami’s Board and Rabbi Kinberg have defined four themes for programming that clarify what our Center for Jewish Life offers. These themes are:
Worship and Spirituality
Personal Growth and Wellbeing
Social Action and Caring
Friendship and Community
As illustrated in the figure, each of these themes has at its core the wisdom of Jewish values and practices, and Kol Ami’s mission and identity.
Perhaps you’ve seen studies showing that having a purpose, praying or being spiritual, and having close friends contribute to living a happier and healthier life. We hope that by participating in Kol Ami’s programming that you will find meaning, have a positive impact on yourself and those around you, and develop relationships that provide a sense of belonging and support. We plan to offer additional programs within each of these themes, so please look in HaKol, Kol Ami’s Facebook page, or text and email announcements and join in.
Many blessings for a Happy and Healthy 2021,
The Board of Kol Ami: A Center for Jewish Life
